LIFE PURPOSE & YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO MONEY
Spiritual Guidelines to Financial & Personal Fulfillment

During the month of SEPTEMBER Reverend
Glenda and Reverend Judy will explore the hidden landscape of beliefs, behavior patterns, and habits that underlie how we use money and other forms of energy.
They will help us work toward cultivation of an ongoing guide for living in which we access our own inner wisdom and move with ease and clarity toward our goals and dreams.
They will explore ways to express our life’s intentions through meaningful goals and ways to live in forgiveness, support and abundance.
Together we will embrace the idea:
“that money is neither spiritual nor nonspiritual. It’s simply energy. It is here to be used wisely, consciously, and with enjoyment. The question is: What are we using our money for?“
Join us this month as we learn to approach our financial and personal lives with a sense of optimism, clarity, and openness, instead of dread.

COMMUNITY PICNIC
Old Fashioned Fun

During Labor Day weekend, on Sunday, September 5, at 1 pm, Common Ground Tustin and Common Ground Corona will gather together for an old fashioned community picnic.
The picnic will take place in a reserved pavilion (#4) at Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim just off the 91 freeway. (Carpooling is encouraged!)
Burgers, hot dogs, and all the trimmings will be provided and prepared by chefs from both communities who will share barbecuing duties at the grills.
Fun and easy games will provide a way for everyone to get to know each other.
A traditional cake walk (sort of like musical chairs – in case you are wondering) will offer a chance for 12 awesome cakes to go home with winners.
A ‘dress-up’ relay race will provide a silly experience of donning various accessories (hats, shoes/size very large, etc) while navigating a simple obstacle course. (each community will provide ‘dress-up’ items for the other team)
A scavenger hunt will take place throughout the event and invite picnickers to hunt for various recycle items and help tidy the park in the process
A collection of board games will be available for those who want to chat and demonstrate expertise at Scrabble, checkers, Trivial Pursuit, etc. Those attending are invited to sign up to bring a pot luck side dish for sharing. We need 4 salads, 4 fruit dishes, 4 chips & dips, and 4 desserts – for 10 to 15 people – from each community. Please bring your own beverages, blankets and lawn chairs. Plates and utensils will be provided. EVERYONE INVITED
Please join us for our First Annual Community Picnic!

CLASSIC MOVIE NIGHT
Inherit the Wind

Common Ground is pleased to offer Classic Movie Night, monthly gatherings in the comfort of the Salon, screening award winning classic films. Every fourth Wednesday of the month a different film will be viewed.
Those who are interested in this gathering are invited to come at 6 pm and bring an appetizer to share. Please bring your own beverage (wine is fine).
Screening will begin promptly at 6:30 pm. Inherit the Wind will be shown on September 22.
This classic film, starring Spencer Tracy, was nominated for four Oscars. It is based on a real-life case that took place in 1925 in which two great lawyers argue the case for and against a science teacher accused of the crime of teaching evolution. Inherit the Wind remains relevant today.
EVERYONE WELCOME!

CONGRATULATIONS COMMON GROUND CORONA
Celebrating Three Years as Spiritual Community

We are pleased to congratulate Reverend Danell Wheeler, founder and inspirational leader of Common Ground Corona, a satellite location of Common Ground.
On September 19, 2010, Common Ground Corona will celebrate its third year as spiritual community. In celebration, the community has planned a colorful fiesta which will take place under the stars on the grounds adjacent to their meeting place at Corona Heritage Park.
Reverend Danell pioneered Common Ground Corona after having completed ministerial training through Emerson Theological Institute and upon completion of internship under Reverend Glenda and Reverend Judy. The process took several years of diligent effort and culminated in becoming a Common Ground Licensed Minister in July of 2006. Reverend Danell was ordained in February 2009.
Corona Heritage Park is the spiritual community’s second location. They are growing rapidly. Now, in response to positive trends in attendance, Reverend Danell will be adding a second Sunday service to accommodate more people.
Please take time to join us in honoring and congratulating Reverend Danell and the entire Common Ground Corona Community. They have accomplished an awesome vision.

RAFFLE WINNER
Bob & Pat Gover

Common Ground’s Summer Raffle was a huge success!
The chance to win a 42″ Sharp Aquos LCD HDTV generated tremendous enthusiasm. 150 tickets were sold at $25 each making odds of winning good.
Toward the end of the raffle an anonymous donor purchased the remaining block of unsold tickets to hasten the drawing.
In a public drawing, which was held during announcements at the 10:30 am Sunday service on August 22, Bob Gover’s name was drawn. Bob was delighted to win and immediately donated the value of the TV back to Common Ground.
Because of the awesome support of the community and Bob’s generous gesture, the Summer Raffle netted a total of $3737.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this a big success!
